LOMPOC POPS ORCHESTRA
PRESS RELEASE

NOVEMBER 2018
By Connie Barlow

The Lompoc Pops Orchestra is pleased to announce that its entire orchestra returns, in tune and ready to help celebrate the season as it presents wonderful seasonal classics and that Christmas cheer audiences have come to love.

Patrons will be in for a delightful evening with such traditional favorites as "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," "Jingle Bells Forever," "The Christmas Song," "Panis Angelicus," in addition to "Songs of Chanukah."  Of course, children in the audience are certain to delight in hearing "Frosty the Snowman" and "A Charlie Brown Christmas."

This year's concert will be dedicated to Alice McGonigal who served as Principal Flute for the Lompoc Pops Orchestra, the Santa Maria Philharmonic and the San Luis Obispo Symphony. She was an extremely talented and accomplished musician who also played the piccolo, fife, Irish-folk flute and guitar in addition to some viola and cello. Alice also sang, conducted and arranged music. Alice was a founding member of the Lompoc Pops Orchestra, having performed with the orchestra since its inception. She left an indelible and positive impression on the artistic climate of the Central Coast and will, indeed, be sorely missed.
